A story about identity, culture, and perseverance.

Everybody has a story to tell. But not every story gets told.
I am a writer. I am a swimmer. I am hispanic-american.
Este es mi relato. This is my story.

About Me
My name is Aurelia. I am 14 years old. I am a passionate and dedicated year-round swimmer. I love to read and write. I am also of Hispanic-American origin. However, I don’t look the way most people imagine when they hear the word “hispanic.”
As an avid reader, I struggle to find books and stories about girls who excel in athletics — especially swimming — and I haven’t encountered many books with hispanic-american heroines.
So, I combined my love of swimming with my love of reading and my multicultural perspective to write a new kind of story. This novel, while a work of fiction, is inspired by real-life experiences and encounters.
